Golden Retriever mill not get on my profile, tips, any help me, him on it? Lol?
I live in a lousy area, "Hood". It is already time for the winter. I have a Golden Retriever (adorable dog, great blood line), is trained so well, he's smarter than a whip! I know not for the life of me, why can not I get this dog get to walk on my treadmill! I have tried everything. It is a good treadmill, I use it a lot. He looks at me and gets all excited when I click, but when I try and to get it because it is like trying to get an elephant jumping through a hula-hoop. He is bold! I go to him and run with him every day, but with a diet and excerize unfortunately he is FAT! Any advice to him on this treadmill? lol …………….. thanks! I have not tried Frightend him or force him out. Iv'e tried to lure him with food and toys. He is also on a diet. I would never miss treat Yacky.
They make it a safe place to go on (so it is not turned on), you place your food on it, so he eats his meals there and each time is he set foot on the praise it ………. .. is the time as you no doubt have been hit and dragged him pushed him and turn it on, he has lost confidence in you. I operate a center and a dog treadmill and can always tell the people who come who have tried at home to her dog, as dogs are always getting very worried …… and it may take a while before they trust me that I am not going to force them, what they go into reactive mode. The ones that have never been on a treadmill, It takes about 5 minutes usually before they will be the first time, I take them off to play, they go and try it again from the 2nd Session they just walk on and through the third one on foot and must not be kept. Security is very important for the people and it is for dogs as well, so take it slow, make a plan to not turn it up to a month and plan to make him walk on it and off of it so you can build up his confidence again, no force will be different he fight against you ………. I'm sitting in the training center office and write one of my dogs walking on the treadmill behind me, she has the confidence to even look around you (the Most dogs, as they lose their balance), and I'm sure they would turn it even when I showed her how to do it …………. but I trust it could not it off when shes ready.
