On the average, teaching Golden Retrievers the basic tricks take about 1 to 2 weeks. After this phase, you should make sure that you would teach new set of tricks to your pet. Thus, the tricks will be learned in an accumulative manner. Other tricks like ’shake’ and ’sit’ can be taught at this stage. Practice these everyday so your pet can easily do these when you want them to do so. Sometimes, they can also be taught how to use the toilet or turn on/off the lights. It depends on your perseverance to train your Golden Retriever.
Golden Retriever is an intelligent breed, so you will not most likely find it very hard. But of course, for a starter, things can never come out smoothly instantly. You need to be patient enough in training your pet. Just be positive, as the reward you will get after is indeed priceless.
Maximize the training phase, as this is a bonding moment for you and your puppy. Aside from making your puppy learn more tricks, you can become closer with each other. And when your pet and you are very much closer, it would be easier to make him follow the things you want him to do. This could be very convenient on your part.
