Potty Training 4 month old Female Golden Retriever?
Hi, I have a 4 mo. old golden female retriever, my problem is that she still urinate in the house. She does ask for the door, but she just stand there without barking. If we see her, then we’re in luck or else, it’s the mop! We put pee mats a lil everywhere but she never pee on them. We kept her in a fenced (baby fence) area and she would pee all over herself.
I am confused, she is so smart. She understands commands such as give, no, bad girl, come, go, and she already fetches and gives her paws. I have young kids and she already knows how to be careful with them. For all that I’m thankful, but I wished she would be clean. When she is over excited to see someone come back home, she squirts all around. I work from home, there’s always someone to keep her company.
I really don’t know what else to do.
Exact same thing happened to me, except I fixed the problem, and now my golden retriever is 6 months old. Get a crate, and put her in the crate whenever you’re not supervising her. If you are supervising her, take her out every 3 hours, or if she gives u a signal that she has to go. If she goes, praise her. Also, if she cries in her crate for over 5 minutes, take her straight outside. If she doesn’t go pee/poo, put her back in. Then ignore her crying until she stops crying. When she starts crying again, take her out, and repeat what I said. My puppy drove me crazy!! We finally got her trained at 6 months of age, which is a bit late
She knew all the tricks your dog knows too
