Golden Retriever puppy with mild hip dysplasia? My dog was diagnosed with hip dysplasia easier, he is 7 months old. He is running and jumping and doing all things to do the puppy is only his back swing to the left and right when he walks slowly. I wonder if anyone has a puppy with mild hip dysplasia and how it is treated. I have heard about the puppies for surgery, but it sounds so scary. Any would advise. Hello My mother and my puppy has hip dysplasia and we said who, not to let the puppies run and jump around, I know its hard but dont let. the vet said it was a very big operation, and only certain places to do it but u can again make the bed with the right hip movement and treatment. Exercise is the short walk up gradually to longer, but dont let the dog run or walk fast. the way the vet explained to me when Uca dog in the Wippit Training for a race of trainner it takes only slowly to begin with and this builds Muscel run faster. the vet said to do this so that the building Muscel and helps push the hip in the inst So it should be.
