Golden retriever mix aggression?
I have a golden retriever mix, I think, with Chow, 4 years old, neutered. I Rescude him from the pound almost a Year so i dont know its history. When I told him he was pretty good with other dogs in the park, he didn't really play with them, try to just keep them back. I do not yell and he stops. Then few months ago I rescued a puppy and he changed. when we walk on a leash and he sees no dogs, he goes crazy, is very aggressive. in the parks, he stood in a few fights. He immediately growls when other dogs aproach him. my update for now, silenced him, as he is in the park. he snarls, but cannot hurt anyone. I have 2 6 weeks obidience training and nothing has really helped. He has no problem with the new puppies or people. very friendly and easy to make to a child too. any ideas? Thanks
Twelve weeks of obedience training is not very long. I suggest you try a different teacher. Each trainer has different methods and you could get exactly the right thing. It is also possible that the dog simply does not like other dogs. It happens. I would not put him to work with other dogs if they are aggressive.
