I have kind of a gross question about my unneutred puppy?
Hi everyone.
I have a 7 month old golden retriever, who is not neutered yet. (He’s gettting neutered in a few days)
I keep getting grossed out.
Like today my friends came over to play wth him, and he got all happy and stuff, and on his like penis there was this red stuff around it. it looked so gross!
What is that? And is that normal? Why does it happen?
I also have a nother question.And sorry if i sound so stupid! But my sister told me that his penis like comes out only at some times like it goes away at times. Is that true?
When my dog gets neutered, will that red stuff go away?

I’m 15? Sorry I don’t know a lot abut penis’s.
It’s true that intact males can become erect when excited. I’ve seen it happen many times and it’s completely normal. After he’s neutered it probably won’t happen as much, although it may still happen if he gets very excited.
